Love means nothing in tennis, but it’s everything in life

As tennis players, we all have heard that ‘’love means nothing in tennis’’. But why does ‘’love’’ mean zero in tennis? We believe the tennis term ‘’love’’ comes from the French word for ‘’egg,’’ l’ouef, because a zero on a scoreboard looks similar to an egg.

While every player wants to avoid the score of ‘’love’’ in a tennis match,  we want to bring more love to the court. Love for yourself, love for your opponent, and love for your gear. So put on your prettiest tennis outfit, pick up a Bijou racquet, and head to your club for a lovely game of tennis.

In the end, Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and an opportunity to treat that special someone. While chocolates and flowers are a first thing that comes in mind, Bijou urges not to forget what really matters … LOVE. We encourage you to show love to your loved ones with kind words and small gestures on February 14th, and every day after that.
